Kerel Alaas + Tisha Deb Pillai Make a Splash at Spark Animation Festival

Recent alumna Tisha Deb Pillai and student Kerel Alaas both feature on the Canadian Film list at the Spark Animation Festival.

Congratulations to alumna (2017) and 4th year student for having their animated films represented at the 2017 Alaas' film, Doors, and Pillai's film, If You Fall were both made while their creators were attending È«Ãñ²ÊƱ. The films explore themes of childhood and family, and were inspired by elements from the animators' youths.

Tisha Deb Pillai is an animation designer who currently resides between Vancouver, Canada and New Delhi, India. In 2017, she graduated with a BMA in Animation from the È«Ãñ²ÊƱ.

Kerel Alaas is a Vancouver based 2D animator and illustrator. Alaas is currently working on her grad film, Künney, at Emily Carr University of Art and Design.
