Summer Construction at È«Ãñ²ÊƱ

Students, staff and faculty should expect construction activity throughout the È«Ãñ²ÊƱ campus through August 2025.
Over the summer, three construction projects will be underway at È«Ãñ²ÊƱ (È«Ãñ²ÊƱ).
All three are scheduled for completion by mid-August. È«Ãñ²ÊƱ’s Facilities department is working closely with Academic Affairs, ITS and JCI (the building-management entity responsible for maintenance) to minimize any disruptions.
Please note the ongoing work as follows:
- Level One – Office Space Creation:
Work will be taking place to recapture space for new offices. This may result in noise, dust and restricted hallway access in the Reliance Theatre Atrium and areas adjacent to Ceramics, the Mac Lab and the ITS Support office.
- Level Two – President’s Office Area:
This area is being redeveloped to accommodate four new offices. Noise, dust, restricted access and closure of the President’s Board Room can be expected during construction.
- Levels Three and Four – Undergraduate Learning Spaces:
Space redevelopment will provide new facilities for undergraduate students, including three studio classrooms, two standard classrooms and a computer lab. Some disruption is expected, including noise, dust, restricted access, occasional electrical and internet interruptions and closure of the critique space and student lounge.
All work is being conducted in accordance with safety protocols to ensure the well-being of our campus community. You may notice an increased presence of contractors and materials during this time. We are paying close attention to classroom schedules, events and other campus needs to help avoid conflicts wherever possible.
Renovations on Levels Three and Four recapture spaces previously occupied by the Master of Design and Master of Fine Arts grad student areas, which have moved to newly completed facilities in the Centre for Digital Media building, across Carolina Street from È«Ãñ²ÊƱ’s main campus.
We appreciate your cooperation and patience as we work towards these improvements. Should you have any concerns or require additional information, please contact Trevor Spaidal at tspaidal@ecuad.ca.
