Moodle now uses the Microsoft 365 authentication method. Simply use your ‘xxxxxxx@ecuad.ca’ email as the Moodle username and enter the relevant myEC/Microsoft 365 password to login.

For Faculty printing (on personal MacBooks) you will need to download and install the .dmg - which you can find at bottom of the "My Links" tab on your

That will bring you to the OneDrive folder (shown below) where you will download and install the .dmg package. In the folder you will also find instructional documents to follow for installation and setup.

This package will also install Software Center. In this application you can (and should) make sure that the printers are up to date via the updates tab on the left menu.

There are several ways to print on campus. Please note that you must be connected to ȫ���Ʊ Wi-Fi in order to use on-campus printers.

1. Use and Ownership

• You are the only person entitled to use your Print account.
• All usage of this service is based on University’s policy (9.3 Appropriate Use of Info Tech Facilities Services)
• You may not use your Print account for any improper or unlawful purpose or any means that contravenes the Emily Carr University Code of Conduct.
• Using another student’s Print account, altering, or falsifying your account information will be dealt with pursuant to Emily Carr University Policies + Procedures and may also be subject to civil or criminal proceedings.
• You may use your Print account at all locations which support the service. The account functions on the principle of a declining balance where print or copy jobs produced on an Print device will be deducted from your account.
• You are responsible for the use of your Print account, including charges made as a result of misuse of your account.
• The responsibility of maintaining a $100 maximum limit of funds in the Print account resides with the owner of the account

2. Security

• Please exit your Print account at the end of each session to protect your account.
• You are responsible for safeguarding your Print account information against loss or theft, and for keeping your online account login information (such as password) confidential. Emily Carr University staff will not ask you to divulge any of your access information. If you suspect any security concerns with your account such as a password compromise, please:

• You are responsible for all transactions made on your Print account until it has been reported to Emily Carr University as compromised. Emily Carr University will investigate the issue and provide a resolution.
• Emily Carr University is not responsible for charges or services obtained on a compromised account.

3. Emily Carr University Print Account Funds

• All Print account funds are in Canadian dollars (CAD).
• The intended amount of deposits made using a debit or credit card that was issued outside of Canada may not be equivalent to the amount deposited due to currency exchange rates.
• Users are responsible for adhering to the $300 maximum fund limit on their accounts.

• Departmental accounts can be created upon the request by Supervisory roles (such as Executive leaders, Directors and Managers)

• The Print Departmental account request form must be filled out and include:
  • Department Name
  • Account credit limit to be applied
  • GL# to charge used balance
  • Approval by GL account signing authority or department manager
  • Departmental Accounts are reconciled at the end of each fiscal year
  • By requesting a Departmental Account, the Department agrees to have all charges on the account applied to the GL# provided

Responsibilities, terms and agreements for use of Faculty Course Accounts

• Faculty Course Accounts can be requested through the Academics Affairs department (Deans Office)
• Faculty Course Accounts are:
  • Active from the time you receive an email indicating the account has been created
  • Deactivated on the day after your last scheduled class, each semester
  • Must be requested each semester (in line with new faculty assignments)

Emily Carr University liability for stolen funds

• The university is not liable to you for any loss, damages (including without limitation special, indirect or consequential damages), costs or expenses of any kind that result from the use or misuse of your Emily Carr University OneCard or Print account, including without limitation if, for whatever reason, your Emily Carr University OneCard or Print OneCard is not accepted or you do not have sufficient funds in your account.
• You agree to indemnify, hold harmless and release the university from any and all claims for losses, damages, costs, expenses, charges or debts made by any party against the university arising out of the use or misuse of your Emily Carr University OneCard or Print account

4. REFUNDS OF PERSONAL BALANCES

Students

• ȫ���Ʊ Print account balances are refundable only when an account closure is requested upon graduation.

Staff/Faculty

• Account balances are refundable only when an account closure is requested upon completion of employment or retirement.

Maximum balance:

• Though Print account holders are able to add any amount to the Print account, Emily Carr University is imposing a maximum balance of $300.00 and it is the responsibility of the user to keep the account balance at $300.00 or less.
• No refunds will be issued that exceed the maximum allowable account balance.
  • If an account exceeds the maximum allowable amount of $300.00, the request for refund and closure of the account will be denied until the user has either transferred the exceeding balance to another user or spent the exceeding amount.
• How do I transfer funds to another student?
  • To transfer funds, log in to your and select "Transfer" from the left menu. Enter the amount of funds you would like to transfer and enter the recipient's myEC username. You can use the comment box to provide information for your own records.

5. Reimbursement For Failed Print Jobs

• Refunds for failed print jobs will be considered when they have been reported by the user through their Print account within 3 days and the failed print is the result of a printer problem not a user error.
• An example of what constitutes a failed print job is:
  • A paper jam, if the printer ran out of toner, if the printer ran out of paper or if there was some other mechanical failure on the part of the machine.
• An example of failed print job that will not be considered for refund is:
  • A document was not set up properly by the user or printed through an unsupported platform such as a web browser. If a user preferred single-sided prints but had not noticed that double-sided was set.

Process to request refund for a Legitimate failed print job
Please follow these steps:

• Log in to your and select the “Recent Print Jobs” menu option.
• Find the job that had a problem and in the far-right column of that specific job record, select the link: “Request Refund.”
• The Refund Request will display with details on the job in question.
• In the Refund Amount box select Full amount or Partial amount, depending on how much of the print job failed. If selecting a partial amount enter the partial amount you are requesting as a refund.
• Complete the Reason for Request field and then press the Send button.

Next step:

• An administrator will review your request and respond to you. All approved refunds will be credited within two business days unless the user has been emailed for further information.
  • Please Note: Refund requests need to be submitted within 3 days of printing the job. Requests for refund will automatically be rejected if the request is initiated after 3 days of printing the job.

6. FAQ
What happens to my account money at the end of the year?

• Your Print account balance does not expire and will automatically carry over to the next year. You can continue to use your Print balance for financial transactions indefinitely. For Refund information, please refer to the section 4. Refunds or Personal Balances
• All accounts were created with a $1 non-refundable balance to allow users to learn how to use the print system. When graduating, a student can leave an account with a balance between $0 and $1 but when requesting a refund of unused balance, $1 is non-refundable
  
• Refunds will be issued through the EFT (Electronic Fund Transfer) process or as a mailed cheque.

1. Use and Ownership

• You may only use your Digital Wallet when you are an active registered student, employee, faculty member or authorized third-party user.

• You may use your Digital Wallet at all University locations and merchants that support the service. The account operates on a declining balance principle, where services are deducted from your account balance.

• You are solely responsible for the use of your Digital Wallet, including any charges resulting from its misuse.

• You may not use your Digital Wallet for any improper or unlawful purposes, or in any way that contravenes the Emily Carr University Code of Conduct (link).

• Using another student’s Digital Wallet, or altering or falsifying your account information, will be dealt with according to Emily Carr University Policies and Procedures and may also be subject to civil or criminal proceedings.

• All usage of this service must comply with the University’s Policies including Policy 7 Finance, 9.3 Appropriate Use of Tech Facilities Services, 9.6 Information Protection, and all other applicable University Policy.

• Your Digital Wallet account may be canceled or revoked by the University at any time.

1. 2. Security

• You are responsible for safeguarding your Digital Wallet account login information against loss, theft and misuse, and for keeping your login information (such as your password) confidential. Emily Carr University staff and representatives will never ask you to divulge any of your account information.

• You must log out from your Digital Wallet account at the end of each session to protect your account from unauthorized access and use.

• You are responsible for all transactions made on your Digital Wallet until notification has been provided to and received by the IT Service Desk. The University will investigate the issue and provide a resolution.

• If you suspect any unauthorized activities with your account, such as a compromised password, you must immediately contact the IT Service Desk . Emily Carr University is not responsible for charges or services obtained on a compromised account.

3. Digital Wallet Account Funds

• All Digital Wallet account funds are in Canadian dollars (CAD).

• The amount deposited using a debit or credit card outside of Canada may differ from the intended amount due to currency exchange rates.

• Users are responsible for adhering to the $300 maximum fund limit on their accounts. While the University understands that users may choose to load more than the recommended maximum limit to their PaperCut Account, the University will not be responsible for any excess amounts.

• ȫ���Ʊ Digital Wallet balances are refundable only when an account closure is requested. Your Digital Wallet has a maximum refund limit of $300.

• The University is not liable if your Digital Wallet is not accepted when used to process a payment, including in the situation where you do not have sufficient funds available in your account.

1. 4. Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy

• Emily Carr University is committed to treating personal information in accordance with B.C.’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and the University’s Privacy Policies.

• The collection of personal information by the University is in accordance with section 26(c) of FIPPA. The personal information is directly related to and needed for the operation of the Digital Wallet system and to administer and carry out related university services and activities, including monthly reconciliation of Digital Wallet transactions.

• The University will not disclose your personal information to third parties unless required by law to do so.

• Where funds are added to your Digital Wallet, the University employs TouchNet’s payment processing services to process the credit card transaction. Your credit card information will be securely processed and stored by TouchNet in the USA within PCI DSS complaint infrastructure.

• Questions regarding the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information for the Digital Wallet should be addressed to the University’s Privacy Officer.

1. 5. Limitations on the University’s Liability and Indemnity

• The University is not liable to you for any loss, damages (including without limitation, special, indirect or consequential damages), costs or expenses of any kind that result from the use or misuse of your Digital Wallet including without limitation, if, for whatever reason, your Digital Wallet account is not accepted or you do not have sufficient funds in your account.

• You agree to indemnify, hold harmless and release the University from any and all claims for losses, damages, costs, expenses, charges or debts made by any party against the University arising out of the use or misuse of your Digital Wallet account.

1. 6. Changes to the Terms

• The University has the right to amend the terms of this Agreement at any time and from time to time by posting or displaying such amendments online at ȫ���Ʊ website page and from the time of such posting or display, you shall be bound by such amendments.

1. 7. Entire Agreement

• The terms described in this Digital Wallet Agreement, constitute the entire agreement between you and Emily Carr University with respect to the subject matter and supersede and replace all prior or contemporaneous understandings or agreements, written or oral, regarding such subject matter. If for any reason a court of competent jurisdiction finds any provision or portion of this Digital Wallet Agreement to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions of the Digital Wallet Agreement will continue in full force and effect.

• TouchNet provides additional contractual obligations for your access and use of the Digital Wallet online platform and the processing of your personal information as outlined in its . This Digital Wallet Agreement must be complied with in addition to any obligations outlined between you and TouchNet in its Privacy Notice.

1. 8. Governing Law

• This Digital Wallet Agreement will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada, without giving effect to its conflict of laws’ provisions. You agree to submit to the personal and exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the Province of British Columbia, Canada.

Your Digital Wallet balance does not expire and will automatically carry over to the next year. You can continue to use your OneCard balance for financial transactions indefinitely. For Refund information, please refer to the section 4. Refunds or Personal

• Refunds will be issued through the EFT (Electronic Fund Transfer) process or as a mailed cheque.
