Self-serve printing is available to Emily Carr students, staff, faculty, and library guest patrons.

To log in to the system, you need to be connected to campus networks such as at a computer lab or on the Emily Carr Wi-Fi. Printing does not work on Emily Carr Guest Wi-fi, guests must use Library computers to print.

Your È«Ãñ²ÊƱ OneCard should automatically work at all Self-Serve printers on campus! If your card doesn't work when you tap it on the reader, you may need to link your card to your account. See instructions below:

1. Touch the screen on the printer if the screen is black, or tap your È«Ãñ²ÊƱ OneCard to the card reader on the right side of the screen.

2. First time users may be prompted to associate (link) their È«Ãñ²ÊƱ OneCard to their account. You will only do this once and then your card will work at all self-serve È«Ãñ²ÊƱ printers.

3. Enter your MyEC credentials.

4. Press Associate, and you will get a confirmation that your card is associated with the school's printers. If you get an error, tap your card again and re-enter your correct MyEC credentials.

5. Now you can tap your È«Ãñ²ÊƱ OneCard on the card reader again to login and use the printer!

• You will be able to transfer print credit from your old print card(s) to your online account at the Pop-Up Printing Info Desk outside the È«Ãñ²ÊƱ Library, as well as at the Library Service Desk.
• Printing credit can also be added directly to your account at the front desk in the Library - they accept credit, debit, or cash, and are open Mon-Fri 9am-5pm.
• Printing credit can also be added through Cashier Services located in the Student Payments Office (B2118) in the Student Commons. Open Mon-Fri 9am-4:15pm (closed between 12:30-1:30)

Students:

• If you have a personal Mac computer, you can install the printing software yourself! Please take a look at the IT Services Page for up-to-date software and information about how the installation works.
• For personal PCs, please request to have the software installed by emailing IT Help.

Staff and faculty:

• Mac users - please install printing software using the Software Centre (found in Applications) on your laptop.
• PC users - please request to have the software installed by emailing IT Help.

In order to print your files using the È«Ãñ²ÊƱ Self-Serve printers, you will be prompted to log in to your account (use your MyEC login) once you have sent your file to a printer. Please remember that you can only print when you are logged on the secure campus Wi-Fi, or when you are using a campus computer!

1. Send your file from the computer to the printer. Choose a printer name based on if you are printing black and white, or colour - once you send your file, you can then print it at any of the Self-Serve laser printers on campus!

2. Wait for a moment - an alert will pop up requesting you log in to your account.

3. Sign in using your MyEC credentials.
*Note: on public computers, we suggest selecting 'Remember: 1 minute'

4. An alert will pop up letting you know that your file has been sent to the campus print system. Time to find a printer!

5. At the printer, log in by tapping your È«Ãñ²ÊƱ OneCard on the card reader.
* Note: if you do not have your È«Ãñ²ÊƱ OneCard, you can login by typing your myEC username and password using the on-screen keyboard.

6. Select Print All, or press Print Release to print specific files.

7. Select your file(s)

8. Press Print to print or the trash can to delete.

9. Press Log out in the top right corner when you are done printing.

The new printers also act as scanners! You will be able to scan something for free, and send it directly to your È«Ãñ²ÊƱ email.

1. Log in to the touch screen by tapping your È«Ãñ²ÊƱ OneCard on the card reader.

2. Select Scan.

3. Press Start Scanning, or press Settings to change options and then press Start Scanning

4. Press Log out when you are done!

There is now colour, black and white, letter, and tabloid laser printing on every level of the building! Take a look at this to find a printer near you.
